Nataraj,

Good one... the ending phrase could be ... nanna jeevanadha koneya kshanagalannu alley kalayabekendu ashisuthaeney....

Isn't it..?

It does, Mr Satya. Sounds good, either way. Would have been better, if someone were to volunteer a rough translation in mundane English, for the benefit of Mysoreans such as yours truly. Can't wait till I learn Kannada to appreciate Mr Nataraj's 'blue-lettered' thoughts eloquently expressed in verse. Am I asking too much ?

Dear Shri Sathya

The ending recommended does not rhyme.

How about this Shri Nataraj
"huttidooralli koneyegaligegalu sukhakaravendu aashisuva naavu"

(incidentally my first attempt at "kavite")

Your asking is relevant and not too much.!! Here is the rough translation :

Our native town is a golden town,

In the depths of memory, the chilhood spent in Mysore is still green,

The life boat is full of slurry (hurdles and obstacles in this context)

When we recall the nostalgic memories, a sigh of depression comes out (could be a wrong usage...am not sure...it looks more prudent in kannada)

In the old age, my desire is to settle down in my home town,

to spend the rest of my life without any impediments,

For the sake of poor belly, we left our Mysore and became travellers,

I wish to have my "death" in my golden town to which i belong.
